Conscious Wave aims to work primarily in the field of Education and Environment while also furthering its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at fostering holistic human development, well-being, and social welfare.

To manifest a globally conscious and compassionate society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive intellectually, emotionally, and physically, ultimately establishing universal peace, ecocentric and sustainable living, mutual respect, and holistic well-being for all generations to come.
Our Mission
Conscious Wave wishes to empower the common man, irrespective of urban or rural living, by means of tailored educational capacity building sessions related to sustainable ecocentric living. The Trust envisions to achieve this by:
- Providing quality education inculcating culture and values with modern subjects, thereby promoting and effectuating scientific temperament
- Preserving the Ecologically Sensitive Zones ensuring the planet along with all beings continue to breathe safe
- Promoting sustainable practices in fields such as agriculture, architecture and tourism thereby mitigating the adverse impact of warming
- Advocating for development to be in tandem with conservation and preservation of nature so that the greatest happiness of the greatest number may become a reality
How It Started
Conscious Wave is the brainchild of our Founder and Trustee, Sh. Amar Kumar Gupta – a self confessed environmentalist. From loving and caring for the minutest of organisms visible to the naked eye, to advocating ecocentric co-existence between human and nature, Sh. Amar Kumar Gupta’s passion for saving the environment knows no bounds.
Yet, it was his two years of dedicated preparation for UPSC with Geography as his main subject that changed everything for him. He developed a keen eye for detail and began thinking about saving the deteriorating environment. He joined the “Save Soil” movement of Sadhguru and organised a seminar for the same at IIT Dhanbad.
Charity begins at home. And for Sh. Amar this proverb became a reality. Having his hometown in Dhanbad, his house lies on the border of Dhanbad and Giridih, the latter housing the Parasnath ESZ. While Sh. Amar could overlook the cracks being formed on the walls of his house due to the mining happening just 500 metres from his home, what got him to act was the disturbance caused to the endemic species living around the Parasnath due to the high decibel noise of mining blasts. Thus, overwhelmed by the apparent disturbance, he sent in a complaint via e-mail to the National Green Tribunal. However, what he did not expect was the aftermath of his innocent e-mail.
The Hon’ble NGT, taking cognisance of the complaint, in the case titled Amar Kumar Gupta vs. State of Jharkhand & Ors., was pleased to form the SEIAA and lay down strict guidelines to be complied with by the Project Proponent before continuing mining. The same was reported by Prabhat Khabar vide news report dated 24.03.2026.
The conscious thought and action of our Founder led to the birth of the “Conscious Wave”.
Conscious Wave aims to work primarily at the policy and implementation level. By doing so, Conscious Wave to ensure that sustainability is not merely talk, rather penetrates all the way down to the common man, specially the students who are bound to be the future leaders.
Amar Gupta - Founder & Managing Trustee
Sh. Amar Kumar Gupta is an environmental legal professional who strongly advocates proactiveness to not only conserve and preserve, but also regenerate the environment thereby rejuvenating the planet making it liveable again with abundance. An engineer by disposition, Sh. Amar seamlessly combines his technical knowledge with his in-depth geographical erudition to provide a complete overhaul of simple environmental concepts by effortlessly connecting the dots. His passionate love for creatures and humans alike makes him an indispensable force as regards peaceful and harmonious co-existence. In his words, “It is we humans who have encroached the natural habitat of the creatures, and not the other way round. We humans have to learn to limit our needs, end our wants and murder our unlimited desires for the environment to thrive again.”
As a Trustee, Sh. Amar is committed to the highest standards of organisational governance. He ensures that all of Conscious Wave’s initiatives - from community driven initiatives to policy research - are grounded in ethical practice and evidence-based strategies. Sh. Amar has also been an active participant in critical regional dialogues, including those focused on Uniform Civil Code and Himalayan ecological fragility. He is driven by the belief that sustainable development is a legal imperative as well as an environmental one, and he is dedicated to building a future where law serves as a primary tool for protecting our natural heritage.
Mrs. N. Vidya - Co-Trustee & Administrator
Mrs. N Vidya brings with her the experience of practicing law across various courts and forums including the Hon’ble Supreme Court, High Court and District courts, and deals extensively with matters pertaining to public interest and child rights. Having meritoriously completed her LL.M. in Human Rights from the University of Reading (United Kingdom), Mrs. N Vidya’s dissertation was on ‘Right to Education and Street Children in India and UK’. Being highly passionate about the quality of education, Mrs. N Vidya strongly advocates for education to be rooted in ethos of culture and values, while producing children that ask the ‘Why’ behind everything. After all, “The world got the Bhagwad Gita only because Arjuna refused to yield to Sri Krishna, choosing to ask WHY rather than meekly conform to diktats.”
In her role as a Co-Trustee, Mrs. N Vidya is responsible for the Education Wing of the Trust wherein she, along with her team, engage in research and develop educational modules for use by students and educational institutes alike. Author of two books, i.e., Laws for Children in India and Know Thy Law (both published by Thomson Reuters), Mrs. N Vidya also engages in Community Outreach and Awareness programs and is a well known face in spreading knowledge about laws and legal processes to the common man. She uses her ground level experience of having been a Delhi Legal Services Authority empanelled lawyer multiple times to bridge the gap encountered between presence of policies and laws, and taking the knowledge to the people. Mrs. N Vidya strongly feels that success of any nation depends on the possession and usage of right knowledge by the people for the people.
